Lithuania is a source, transit, and destination country for trafficking. Europol estimates that more than 1,200 women and girls are victims of human trafficking every year. Women are largely trafficked to Germany, Spain, Denmark, Norway, The Netherlands, the United Kingdom, France, and Poland for the purpose of sexual exploitation. Women are trafficked for sexual exploitation into and through Lithuania from countries such as Ukraine, Russia (Kaliningrad), and Belarus, and within Lithuania.
